Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige’s, “The Lebanese Rocket Society, 2012” winner of the Best Documentary Feature Film at the 2012 Doha Tribeca Film Festival will be shown as part of Where are the Arabs? on February 16, 2014 at MoMA PS1.
In the early 60′s, during the cold war and the apex of Pan Arabism, a group of utopian students and researchers enters the race to space and create the Lebanese Rocket Society. Sometimes, dreams can overtake a tormented history…

Where are the Arabs? presents a range of artistic responses to the different socioeconomic and political situations throughout Arab cities today. Organized by Sharjah Art Foundation, the program features films by Joanna Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, Simone Fattal, Rania Stephan, Samah Hijawi, Mario Rizzi, Jem Cohen and Luc Sante, Basma Al Sharif and Jayce Salloum among many others.
