Jim Hodges: 3 Drawings
On View July 05, 2001 - August 10, 2001
The three drawings in the gallery are a spontaneous gesture by the artist for summer 2001. While the palletes are specific to each drawing each line of color is a random choice. These three works were made in response to the architecture of the Gallery space. Jim Hodges has made wall drawings for many years and has included in all of his museum exhibitions either a portrait wall drawing (overlapping concentric circles) or “A Possible Drawing”, which is a spontaneous work created on site in public institutions which uses information provided to the artist by visitors such as height, age or color prefrence. Jim Hodges has exhibited widely In the United States, Europe and South America in both galleries and public institutions. His work was most recently seen at Sao Paolo Brazil and will be presented at CRG Gallery again in February 2002.
