CRG is pleased to announce our next exhibition will be recent work by Jim Hodges. For his third solo exhibition with CRG, Hodges will present five works including a collage drawing made from 18,000 pantone color samples, a mosaic of thousands of hand cut, mirrored glass fragments, each approximately ½ inch, mounted on canvas, a fabric construction of 16 incrementally sized shirts all contained within each other, a wooden sculpture of a carved tree branch and a drawing done directly on the wall. Jim Hodges art making has a history of transforming common materials into objects of beauty and poetry. Hodges’ ink on paper napkin Diaries, silver chain spiderwebs, silk flower curtains, and smashed mirror and mirror mosaics have been widely exhibited. Jim Hodges had his first solo museum exhibition this past year at the Kemper Museum, Kansas City and is scheduled for solo exhibitions next year at the Musuem of Contemporary Art, Chicago as well as the Miami Art Museum. He will also be included in the upcoming exhibition, Abstract Painting, Once Removed, at the Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston. Visual material is available upon request.
