Press Release

CRG is pleased to announce our next exhibition will be new works by New York artist, Melissa McGill. For her second solo exhibition with CRG the artist will present work from two new series. Boomerang (1998) is an installation of small mirrored, blown-glass pieces installed all over the periphery of the gallery. The individual glass pieces catch and reflect back the viewer’s glance creating a labyrinth of reflections. Portrait X (1998-1999) is a series of nine portraits sculpted entirely from lint which border the grotesque and the humorous. The artist will also exhibit, Untitled (1998), a sound installation using pedestals, conch shells, and the recorded voice of Anna Magnani, taken from Rossellini’s film “Amore”. The recording in this work, a series of verbal fragments, is a further investigation by the artist of negative or “in between” spaces, here with sound as the medium. Gallery Hours: Tuesday – Saturday, 11 – 6 PM Visual material is available upon request.
